Field Service Engineer – Louisville, KY


This is a Full-time position in Louisville, KY posted September 13, 2021.

Responsibilities Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.Daktronics Technical Service Professionals are responsible for maintaining and optimizing these systems for our customers at their location and over the phone. This work includes a variety of tasks from installation, commissioning, game-day services, customer support, system troubleshooting, and repair. This role provides the opportunity to work on many of Daktronics technologies, including, controller hardware, broadcast systems, stats systems, display technology.The desired location for this position will be Louisville, Kentucky metro area. Your schedule will include nights and weekends, and you may be scheduled to support weekend work 10 or more weekend days per year providing on-site support or remote technical support.You will work to deliver Onsite and Remote support to our various end customers.Onsite Support consists of supporting Daktronics equipment and end customers where the equipment is located. This work will primarily focus on:Being on customers’ sites to provide service, installation, and support during the event.Provide on-site technical and maintenance services for Control Systems and Display Systems.Troubleshoot and solve basic to sophisticated hardware and software technical issues using logical troubleshooting approach with attention to detail.When needed work with a team to resolve or escalate product issues. Your schedule may include nights, weekends, event support, and on-call situations.Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support the efforts of Daktronics.Assist in training Service Partners. Remote Support consists of supporting Daktronics equipment and end customers. This work will primarily focus on:Providing technical over the phone support to internal and external customers. Ensure responsiveness and first-time resolution to customers’ request for technical support primarily through incoming and proactive outbound calls.Troubleshoot and solve basic to sophisticated hardware and software technical issues using logical troubleshooting approach with attention to detail.Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Provide software application installation/configuration support along with “how-to” assistance. The Field Service team consists of Technical Service Professionals who live and work in the geographical areas that they support. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with experience in in Audio Visual/Broadcast system, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or similar engineering degree with experience.Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.Must be able to get a passport.Must be able to work nights and weekends based on business need.Able to work at heights or from a ladder and able to carry ladder/tools/parts from vehicle to work site.Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 45 pounds.Ability to work in a variety of environments, including cold/hot weather, small spaces.Must be able to:Communicate effectively in a variety of settings.Confident under pressure, able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.Show personal commitment to continuously improve.Display a can-do attitude in good and bad times.Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.Strong computer skills: Internet navigation, word processing, spreadsheets, and Daktronics internal programs.Work effectively as a team member assisting when and where needed.Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
